Promotion / Congress Code


The organization and coordination of thematic panels within the objectives of the congress is up to their proponents. Each panel consists of five communications articulated around its theme.

A thematic panel session will only take place with a minimum number of papers (4), so that panels which do not have this minimum number of papers have to associate to panels alike.

The accepted panels are open to the participation through the submission of proposals for papers. The selection of papers submitted to thematic panels will be made by their proponents.

The accepted thematic panels are the following:

  P3 - Tourism in Rural Spaces - Sustainable Alternatives for socioeconomic
          development in rural areas;
  P5 - Turismo em áreas protegidas e Desenvolvimento Local;
  P6 - Empresas Globais e o Desenvolvimento socioeconômico da Amazônia;
  P7 - Food production and bioenergy: in search of a sustainable development
  P8 - Gênero e Gestão no Agronegócio: a contribuição de mulheres gestoras
          para o desenvolvimento rural;
  P9 - Qualificação de Produtos Alimentares, Competitividade e Desenvolvimento
  P10 - Localized Food Systems and Rural Development: A comparative analysis
          of experiences;
  P11 - Knowledge and Innovation System for Agricultural and Rural Development;
  P12 - (Af)fluent patrimony: rivers, communities and rural development;
  P13 - Innovation in tourism and leisure at rural places;
  P14 - Human Right to Adequate Food and Rural Development in CPLP;
  P15 - Agriculture dynamics for the future: research methodologies and
  P16 - Ecoefficiency, participatory processes and sustainability;
  P17 - Public goods from agriculture and agro-forestry: Valuation and
          mechanisms for value capture;
  P18 - Designing smart specialisation strategies in rural areas;
  P19 - O papel do poder autárquico no desenvolvimento local;
  P20 - Agriculture: History, Landscape and Development in Timor-Leste;
  P23 - Energy and environment: Use, evaluation and policies in agriculture;
  P24 - Métodos de análise e desenvolvimento do território.

Conference dates – October 15-18, 2013
Technical and touristic trip (optional)
 – October 19, 2013


Gala dinner will take place on October 17th and will be an opportunity for networking between delegates and tasting the flavors and nectars of the region.
The technical and touristic trip will be held on 19th, Saturday, and will take the participants of ESADR 2013 to typical places of high historical and landscape interest of Alentejo.
